Iceberg Lake/Ptarmigan Tunnel- 22 July 2010

No matter how many times we have been on this trail it is always delightful with a wide varity of flowers

A little stream with Bog Orchids, Indian Paintbrush and Monkey flowers

Ken Brooks and Coleen Steed- the trail was a little damp

                                    Bob, Ruth, Coleen and Ken

Ptarmigan Falls- a favorite resting spot
Bob, Ken, and Coleen

Ruth- lunch time. The five of us were on the tail end of the group. that's what age does. We really need to get a group picture at the start of each hike.

When it started spitting rain some of us turned back. So much for our "neither snow, rain, hail or sleet" will  stop our hike.
For those who haven't been to Iceberg Lake- this is what it looked like in 2008, the last time I was there. Hopefully I will make it this year.
The following pictures of Ptarmigan Tunnel hike are from Loural

Carol Wosley, Tan Deregt and Loural Meeks
Glacier Lily- unusual for the middle of July
Tan and Carol- on the trail above Ptarmigan Lake- ready for the big climb up to the tunnel.
What a neat picture of the tunnel and the view from the other side is well worth the climb

No matter what the weather we always have a great time out in the mountains with our friends. Thanks Loural for the great pictures.
