Two Medicine/East Glacier Overnighter-11-13 Aug 2009-

The highlight of our hiking season- the overnigh trip to Two Medicine and  East Glacier. We stayed at  Brownies Grocery & H.I. Hostel in East Glacier. The  Historical 1920s-era log building houses a grocery store, bakery and deli on main floor, hostel & kitchen on second floor. We expected rustic and that's what it was. A really fun  place to stay.

We went to Two Medicine Lake for our  first hike. Most of the crew went to Rockwell Falls but Gerry, Shiela and Faye just went to Aster Falls while Connie had a nap in the car. We were so glad to have her with us again even though she couldn't hike.

A fun evening of playing killer hearts and talking about past hiking experiences and all the good times we have had. The next morning those that were hiking to Dawson Pass left early to catch the boat up Two Medicine Lake.

Shiela, Gerry, Connie and Faye toured the big East Glacier Hotel and then went up to the lake. We took the boat  up the lake with intentions of hiking in to Upper Two Medicine Lake. The storm clouds had rolled in but we  pressed on while wondering how the "Pass" crew was doing. A little  past Twin Falls it started to pour and soon we were sloshing through the water so headed back to the falls and then on to the shelter at the upper boat dock.
Shiela and Gerry- a little wet!

The next day the weather wasn't any better so most of the group headed right home. The "party" cars (who will be nameless) -shopped, went to St. Mary's for lunch and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Thank you so much Loural and Ritchie for many of the pictures. It was a great trip of much laughter, great friends and soggy boots.
